Baggies struggling going forward

West Brom clinched their first Premier League win since their return to the top flight last weekend as an early goal helped them past the beleaguered Sheffield United at the Hawthorns, but they remain in deep trouble.

The Baggies sit 18th in the table having collected just six points from their opening ten games, and while their early season efforts were plagued by defensive issues their recent outings have featured problems at the other end of the pitch.

Slaven Bilic has done well to minimise their defensive fragility, but in doing so the attacking intent has all but vanished from West Brom’s play. They have scored just two goals in their last seven Premier League matches, and more goals could be hard to come by on Sunday.

Zaha absence hits Crystal Palace hard

Crystal Palace aren’t exactly a free-scoring side here, so Sunday’s early kickoff is likely to be a dull affair from a neutral perspective.

The Eagles have shown a few glimpses of attacking quality this season but they have still averaged just 1.2 goals per game so far, and once again they are missing star man Wilfried Zaha.

The COVID-19 stricken attacker has missed Palace’s last two games and, without him, they have failed to find the net. Four of their last six games have featured fewer than three goals as well, so backing the unders is the way to go here.

We do think Palace have what it takes to clinch a narrow victory though. West Brom have failed to score in five of their last seven matches and have lost 1-o in two of their last three, so we’re opting for a 1-0 win for the visitors for our correct score prediction.

Jake Livermore could return after testing negative for COVID-19, with Kieran Gibbs following suit and likely to replace the injured Conor Townsend at left back.
