Reason For Newcastle vs West Ham Betting Tips
Newcastle pulling clear of danger
Newcastle took a massive step towards safety last week when they clawed their way back from a goal down to beat Burnley 2-1 at Turf Moor, though the Magpies will find it tough to record a follow-up win against a red-hot West Ham on Saturday.
Steve Bruce’s men have pulled six points clear of the drop zone with a game still in hand, and as little as one more victory from their final seven matches would all but cement their top-flight status.
A favourable run of fixtures has allowed Newcastle to avoid defeat in five of their last six assignments, though a rampant-looking West Ham look ready to blot the Magpies’ improved record.
West Ham on the cusp of history
West Ham have been a surprise entry in the race for a top-four finish this season, and the Irons showed their mettle with an excellent 3-2 win over fellow Champions League qualification contenders Leicester City last week.
Again, it was the rejuvenated Jesse Lingard who was the Hammers’ main man, and the attacking midfielder helped himself to his seventh and eighth Premier League goals in his ninth appearance for West Ham following his loan move from Man Utd.
Stick with the Irons
While Jesse Lingard’s staggering performances are understandably making him the headline act, the loanee is being backed up by a hugely effective supporting cast at present.
The Irons have scored nine times in their last three matches and they are playing with a free-wheeling confidence that makes them worth backing to win again at Newcastle.
The Magpies have won only one of their last nine league contests at St. James’ Park, and they could struggle to contain a West Ham frontline containing in-form operators Lingard and Jarrod Bowen.
Our 2-1 correct score prediction tips the hosts to notch a consolation however. The Hammers have kept only one clean sheet in their last seven league matches, and a Newcastle side that has notched in seven straight home games can get in on the act.
Anytime goalscorer betters need look no further than Jesse Lingard. The 28-year-old is playing the best football of his career and everything he is touching at present is turning to goals.
Newcastle injuries and team news
Fabian Schar, Isaac Hayden, Jamaal Lascelles and Ryan Fraser are all out for Newcastle, though Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson – who came off the bench last week – should be fit enough to start this time around.
West Ham United and team news
Angelo Ogbonna, Andriy Yarmolenko, Declan Rice and Darren Randolph are all sidelined for West Ham, while Michail Antonio remains a major doubt.
The Irons played with a back three against Leicester, though they should revert back to their favoured 4-2-3-1 system here.
