Reason For Everton vs West Ham Betting Tips
Everton build momentum over busy festive period
Barring their League Cup defeat to Manchester United, Everton have had a remarkably successful festive period considering some of the injury problems they’ve faced.
Despite the absence of key figures such as Lucas Digne, Allan, Richarlison and James Rodriguez, they have racked up four Premier League victories on the spin.
This includes excellent wins against Chelsea, Leicester and Arsenal, pushing Carlo Ancelotti’s Toffees into the top four and leaving them just three points behind arch-rivals and top flight leaders Liverpool.
Hammers struggle to win
West Ham’s festive period hasn’t been quite so positive, but they remain in a promising position after their goalless draw with Southampton on Tuesday, sitting 10th in the table and only three points off 5th.
The Hammers have, however, struggled to carve out victories in this spell. They are currently winless in four matches and, while they have only lost two of their last nine games, both of these defeats came against top four contenders.
Toffees set for another three points
In fact, West Ham have only won one of their last seven league matches against teams above them in the table, and with Everton in such fine form right now backing them to get the win looks good value for money.
We are expecting the visitors to pose a goal threat though. West Ham have only failed to score in three of their 15 league games this season and should have Michail Antonio back at the spearhead of their attack. With Everton scoring exactly two goals in two of their last three, a 2-1 correct score prediction appeals.
We’re also backing Dominic Calvert-Lewin to break his duck on Friday. The English striker has endured a tough run recently but with key provider James Rodriguez expected to return his service could improve on Friday. Calvert-Lewin has still scored 11 top flight goals this season, so he’s a good value option in the anytime goalscorer market.
Everton injuries and team news
There are no fresh injury concerns for Everton, but they are still without the key trio of Lucas Digne, Allan and Richarlison along with the perennially sidelined Fabian Delph and Jean-Phillipe Gbamin.
James Rodriguez could return to the side though, possibly pushing Anthony Gordon or Gylfi Sigurdsson back to the bench.
West Ham injuries and team news
Arthur Masuaku is West Ham’s only confirmed absentee for Friday’s match, but Fabian Balbuena could rotate in for Craig Dawson at the back.
Michail Antonio is expected to start after coming off the bench against Southampton, while Said Benrahma, Jarrod Bowen and Vladimir Coufal could all return to the starting lineup
