Reason For Derby vs Reading Betting Tips

Key points Derby - Reading

  • Derby County are unbeaten at Pride Park this season, winning one and drawing three.
  • Reading have won just one of their four away trips, losing three.
  • The Rams have scored in all but one of their home fixtures but have kept just one clean sheet.
  • Reading have netted in three of their four outings on the road but have failed to maintain a clean sheet on their travels.

Conclusion Derby - Reading

Rams to hold The Royals at Pride Park

Battling Derby County came up just short in their immediate response to a ten point deduction when losing 1-0 at Sheffield United on Saturday, but The Rams are taken to earn a point in midweek when they entertain Reading at Pride Park.

Derby’s defeat at Bramall Lane means they’re nine points adrift of safety going into this Wednesday’s clash and boss Wayne Rooney will be desperate for his side to at least maintain their unbeaten home record here against The Royals.

Rooney and his players deserve immense respect for their efforts in such horrendous circumstances so far this season, with The Rams fighting hard game after game despite the club’s current crisis. Derby are trying to turn Pride Park into their foundation for survival, and so far, so good, with one win and three draws ground out from four home starts.

While Reading have won their last three including a superb 2-1 victory at Fulham on their penultimate outing, Vejlko Paunovic’s men lost their first three away trips this term and The Royals have been sketchy travellers in the Championship for some time.

It’s not unfair to suggest that the visitors have lacked a bit of mettle on the road since Paunovic’s arrival and although they’re clearly the better of these two teams, they may struggle to claim maximum points in the face of a Derby outfit scrapping for their lives, even at this early stage of the campaign.
