Reason For Birmingham vs Huddersfield Betting Tips

  • All seven of Birmingham’s Championship games this season have produced under 2.5 goals, with the same applying to four of Huddersfield’s seven outings.
  • The teams have netted just nine goals between them in 14 combined league matches.
  • Eight of the last ten encounters between the sides have generated fewer than 2.5 goals.

Don’t Expect Drama at St Andrews

Birmingham City were involved in yet another dull contest when playing out a goalless stalemate at QPR on Saturday and there’s every reason to expect a similar outcome when they entertain Huddersfield Town at St Andrews in midweek.

The draw at Loftus Road was the seventh straight fixture involving the Blues this term that has produced under 2.5 goals and the third match on the spin where City have failed to trouble the onion bag.

Aitor Karanka’s side have scored just three goals overall this season and that’s largely why they head into Wednesday’s clash with just four points in the bank from their last six league outings.

Huddersfield haven’t fared too much better in the goalscoring stakes, however, as the Terriers have mustered just six strikes of their own in seven starts so far.

Carlos Corberan’s side weren’t hindered by their lack of firepower prior to last Saturday as they racked up three victories from four all by a single goal, but they couldn’t put Preston to bed at the weekend after taking the lead and paid the ultimate as the Lilywhites fought back to win 1-2.

14th placed Town are three points ahead of 17th placed City and have been marginally more impressive during the opening weeks of the campaign, but they could be drawn into a bit of a dogfight this Wednesday with home boss Karanka likely to persist with a negative approach.

With goals at a premium for these teams and under 2.5 scored in eight of the last ten meetings, we’re recommending an under 2.5 goals wager for the action at St Andrews, alongside a 1-1 draw. There shouldn’t be much to split the sides in what should be a turgid affair and that’s been the final score in two of the last four encounters.
