Conclusion Aston Villa - Burnley

Villa look to continue revival

Aston Villa’s home game against Burnley is one of just two Premier League fixtures to survive a wave of coronavirus related postponements on Saturday but both teams have a few selection issues regardless.

Villa claimed a midweek win over Norwich and Jed Steer, Anwar El Ghazi, Morgan Sanson and Keinan Davis were not involved at Carrow Road, with reports indicating they have tested positive for coronavirus. Boss Steven Gerrard will also be without injury victims Marvelous Nakamba, Leon Bailey and Bertrand Traore, but Matty Cash, Emiliano Buendia, Ashley Young and Ezri Konsa should be available despite picking up knocks against the Canaries.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has one player missing due to Covid-19 but that squad member has not been named. The Clarets will be without Ashley Barnes through injury and Connor Roberts and Dale Stephens are doubts.

Villa can continue revival despite absentees

Villa may have the greater injury problems but they can still maintain their strong form since Gerrard arrived with a win on Saturday. The Clarets have also had more time off after their own midweek assignment against Watford was postponed, but there has been a real improvement at Villa Park in recent weeks and the hosts are the team with the momentum.
