Reason For West Bromwich Albion vs Arsenal Betting Tips

  • Arsenal have won just three of their eight Premier League away games.
  • West Brom have only lost two of their five meetings with ‘Big Six’ clubs this season.
  • West Brom have only lost one of their last six home matches against Arsenal, with three of them ending 1-1.

Allardyce looks to salvage Baggies season

It’s not been the easiest start to life at the Hawthorns for Sam Allardyce, but he will be hoping his vast experience puts him in good stead when his West Brom side face an Arsenal team on the brink of resurgence.

The Baggies have picked up one point from three games since Alladyce’s appointment, and their 5-0 demolition at the hands of Leeds last time out was a harrowing blow to their survival chances.

However, they can take heart from a resolute performance in their 1-1 draw at Anfield last week, and another point or three certainly isn’t out of the question on Saturday.

Gunners resurgence continues

Arsenal followed on from their shock win over Chelsea on Boxing Day with a hard-fought 1-0 win at Brighton, but the Gunners remain all the way down in 13th position and their lack of goals is still a worry.

They have scored just 16 goals in 16 matches this season, and away from home they have only netted three in their last six. They have won just one of their last four on the road, and it could be much harder than they expect to maintain their momentum at the Hawthorns.

Hosts to prove tough to beat

West Brom have admittedly struggled this season, but their performances against the bigger clubs in the Premier League have been surprisingly good. They have taken points off Liverpool and Manchester City recently and drew at home to Chelsea earlier in the season. Their only two defeats against ‘Big Six’ clubs were narrow 1-0 losses to Spurs and Manchester United back in November.

Additionally, they have lost just one of their last six home games against Arsenal, and given the Gunners’ struggles this season backing a West Brom double chance looks excellent value. Each of their recent meetings with Big Six clubs ended in 1-1 stalemates, as did their last hosting of Arsenal, so we’re opting for that as our correct score prediction.

West Brom injuries and team news

Kieran Gibbs is still a doubt after being injured in the warm-up against Leeds, with Kyle Bartley and Hal Robson-Kanu other doubts. Conor Townsend is sidelined while Jake Livermore is suspended.

Arsenal injuries and team news

Gabriel will miss out after testing positive for COVID-19, while Thomas Partey is another injury concern. David Luiz and Willian are both doubts after suffering illness recently, while Bukayo Saka is a minor doubt as well
