Preston Opposable After Trio of Home Defeats

Preston are seeking their third straight league win when they host Millwall on Wednesday night, but the Lilywhites look worth opposing based on their current home form and the Lions’ lack of defeats so far this season.

It’s been a decent week for Alex Neil’s Preston who backed up last Wednesday’s 0-2 success at QPR with a 1-2 comeback win against Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday, and the results have steered them into mid-table after they picked up just four points from their opening five games.

The Lilywhites are favourites for their encounter with Millwall here, but that status appears questionable for several reasons.

The host’s have lost all three of their outings at Deepdale by a 0-1 score-line so far this season, while their opponents have lost just of their opening seven Championship matches.

Millwall’s 1-1 draw at home to Barnsley on Saturday was undoubtedly a disappointing result for Gary Rowett’s men, but they have been extremely solid overall throughout the early stages of the campaign and travel to Deepdale having won two of their last three on the road.

Add in the fact that the Lions completed a league double over Preston last term and it’s easy to see why the hosts can be easily opposed on Wednesday night. Millwall are worthy of support in the double chance market and we’re also backing the South East Londoners to pinch a 0-1 victory as they managed in both contests last season
