Reason For Paris Saint-Germain vs Nantes Betting Tips

  • PSG average 2.4 goals a game at home this season and have lost just one match at the Parc des Princes since March.
  • Nantes have scored just one goal in their last three away games, losing twice and drawing once.
  • PSG have won four of their last five clashes with Nantes, three of them coming with a clean sheet.

It just keeps getting better in the capital

Sometimes it can be difficult to point out the cracks in this imperious PSG side currently five points clear at the top of the table and it gets even harder when they play at home. Paris have had some awkward performances of late when playing on the road but at the Parc des Princes, they have been consistently dominant. They have won eight of their nine home matches in all competitions this season, scoring 22 and conceding just twice.

They have managed to turn the stadium into one of the most formidable fortresses in Europe, with all the stats showing the strength of the Parisians when playing in their own city. They have created the most chances, scored the most goals, conceded the least chances and conceded the least goals of all Ligue 1 teams at home in this campaign and Nantes should just be another name to add to their list of victims.

Nantes lacking inspiration and goals

Nantes have been in awful form recently and will find it extremely difficult here as they travel to the capital. Les Canaris won their first league game since early October at the weekend as they beat Toulouse 2-1. However, Toulouse currently sit bottom of the table, played 70 minutes with ten men and still managed to cause Nantes some trouble; so this victory wasn’t overly impressive for Christian Gourcuff’s men.

Les Canaris started the season in fine form with one of the best defences in the league but they currently look a shadow of their former selves, having conceded nine goals in their last six Ligue 1 matches. Much of their early-season success was thanks to their excellent home form but their performances on the road have always failed to match that quality. They have two defeats and a draw in their last three matches away from home and we doubt that’ll get any better here as they travel to Paris.

Parisian dominance against Nantes

PSG have won four of their last five clashes with Nantes and, with them in such fine form at the Parc des Princes, we’re backing the hosts to boost that record here. Nantes have failed to score in two of their last three away games and with each of PSG’s last three wins over Les Canaris coming with a clean sheet, we think that’ll be the case again here.

Nantes have just been too poor in recent weeks to warrant any sort of hope ahead of this clash with the champions. Their defence has really crumbled away and, as a result, we’re backing this to end 3-0 to the hosts.
