Reason For Norwich City vs Arsenal Betting Tips

  • Freddie Ljunberg will take charge of Arsenal following Unai Emery’s sacking on Friday.
  • Norwich have lost their last three home games in the Premier League by an aggregate score of 10-2.
  • Arsenal have won five of their last six meetings with Norwich in all competitions and haven’t lost to them since 2012.
  • Arsenal have kept just two clean sheets in the Premier League this season, with their last away shutout coming on the opening weekend.

Struggling Norwich facing uphill battle for survival

Norwich managed to give themselves a massive confidence boost last weekend as they took advantage of Everton’s poor form to take all three points at Goodison Park, but there are still some major concerns around the Canaries’ chances of survival this season.

That victory over Everton ended a run of seven consecutive winless games in the top flight for Daniel Farke’s side, and with six of those being losses it comes as no surprise that they find themselves stranded in the relegation zone. They sit 18th after that win last weekend, three points adrift of West Ham above them and knowing they really need to pick up the pace for the rest of the season.

Emery era comes to a close at Arsenal

Unfortunately for the hosts, they aren’t coming up against Unai Emery on Sunday. The Spaniard was sacked on Friday after losing at home to Eintracht Frankfurt, and the onus now falls upon interim manager Freddie Ljunberg to try and dig The Gunners out of their hole.

The new manager effect could play a key role here as Ljunberg looks to end a run of five winless games in the Premier League, and in all fairness he couldn’t have wished for a better fixture to start with.

Norwich have lost each of their last three home games in the Premier League and have shipped an average of 2.67 goals per game at Carrow Road this term. This includes a 5-1 demolition at the hands of Aston Villa, a 2-0 loss to bottom of the table Watford, and a 3-1 defeat against a struggling Manchester United side.

Arsenal response expected at Carrow Road

With Emery out, we’re expecting a response from the Arsenal players and they should be fully capable of delivering a win against this sub par Norwich side. However, The Gunners have kept just two clean sheets this season and haven’t shut out the opposition away from home since the opening weekend of the Premier League.

Norwich, meanwhile, have found the net a respectable 10 times at home this season and have only failed to score once at Carrow Road, so we think an Arsenal Win and Both Teams to Score bet offers a lot of value. With Norwich conceding an average of 2.67 goals per game at home and shipping three goals against both Chelsea and Manchester United, we think a 3-1 correct score prediction is a good shout too.
