Reason For Nice vs Metz Betting Tips

  • Metz are drawn for the least goals scored away from home this season.
  • Nice have two wins and a draw in their last three home matches, scoring six goals along the way.
  • Metz have won just one of their eight away games this campaign.

Home comforts for Nice

Nice were humiliated on Wednesday as they were beaten 4-1 by Saint-Étienne. It was another poor performance from les Aiglons as they dropped down to 14th. Nice have won just two of their last eleven games in all competitions and have been severely underperforming for a team that finished 7th last year. They’ve conceded eleven goals in their last six games and have relied on their home form to keep them relatively afloat in recent weeks.

The Allianz Riviera has proved pivotal for Nice’s success this season with them unbeaten in their last three games there. They scored six goals in this time and conceded just the one goal from open play so should be rather confident ahead of this one. These three matches all came against teams much better than Metz like Angers, Bordeaux and Reims so they’ll be hoping they can do a job in this one but with the 4-1 defeat still ringing in their ears they could show some anxiety in this game.

Metz’s awful away record

Metz go into this game as underdogs but Nice haven’t been at their best this season and could be in with a surprise result. Metz are winless in their last six league games but they have exhibited some quality in their period as they have drawn four times against teams of varying qualities. Montpellier (2-2), Lille (0-0) and Reims (1-1) are all great teams so for Metz to get points against all of them was incredible. Les Graouillys are in dire need of goals though as they have netted just 13 times in their 16 league games thus far in the campaign, the fourth worst tally in Ligue 1.

Metz’s away form isn’t great ahead of this game with just the one win in their last eight outings. They are drawn with Dijon for the least goals scored on the road this season (3) and even though they drew their last two away games, they were rather lucky to do so with the Lille draw particularly fortunate.

Nice to bounce back?

Nice haven’t been great recently with just their home form saving them but Metz’s away record is too poor to consider them for this game so we’re edging this one in favour of the home side. The visitors are so bad going forward away from home and with Nice creating a lot of chances and scoring six goals in their last three matches at the Allianz Riviera we’re backing this one to finish 2-0 to the hosts. We’re also backing Kasper Dolberg to score for Nice as the Dane has three goals in his last three matches.
