Reason For Nantes vs Toulouse Betting Tips

Christian Gourcuff’s Nantes side began the season in fine form, finding themselves 2nd at the end of October. However, a steep decline in form has seen them drop down to 8th and they risk falling even further down the table if they can’t quickly resurface themselves.  The Canaries really need to sort out their attack if they want to get back into the upper echelon of Ligue 1 as they have scored the fourth least goals and created the third least chances this season.

Nantes had been lauded for their fantastic defence earlier in the season but that is all starting to crumble away as they have conceded eight goals in their last five league games. Their home form has also fallen away with a once seamless record now blemished by two recent defeats at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

Toulouse shouldn’t be awfully difficult opposition for Nantes here though as Antoine Kombouaré’s men have been playing with a lack of quality, confidence and ultimately points. They have lost each of their last four games in Ligue 1 and are quickly turning into a laughingstock at the back. Kombouaré has taken charge of five games in the league now and even though they won their opening fixture against Lille, it has been a rapid reality check for les Violets.

Before the new manager joined the club, Toulouse had conceded the second most goals in Ligue 1 but Kombouaré has done a great job in pleasing the masochists as they have now leaked the most goals of any team in France’s top division. Eleven goals going past Baptiste Reynet’s goal in their last four games has been an awful record and with their last away win in the league coming in January, we don’t hold a lot of hope for les Violets here.

Nantes have been poor recently but Toulouse have been awful so we’re backing the home side to get the victory here. The Canaries haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last five league games but with Toulouse conceding for fun under Kombouaré, we’re expecting this to finish 2-1 to the hosts.
