Reason For Liverpool vs Wolverhampton Betting Tips

  • Liverpool have won 17 of their 18 Premier League matches this season and haven’t dropped a single point at Anfield.
  • The hosts are unbeaten in the league at home since April 2017 and have won each of their last 16 top flight games at Anfield.
  • Wolves have scored in each of their last 17 Premier League matches.
  • Liverpool have only kept one clean sheet in their nine Premier League home games this season.

Liverpool elevate themselves to new heights

Liverpool’s 4-0 demolition of Leicester on Boxing Day saw them take one step closer to their long standing dream of winning the Premier League title, and their opponents on Sunday dragged Liverpool another step along that path on Friday with a stunning comeback against Manchester City.

Now, at the halfway point in the Premier League campaign, Jurgen Klopp’s men sit a mighty 13 points clear in the top flight, and not many people will be backing against the red half of the Mersey right now.

Liverpool’s sheer dominance has become something of a normality this season. They have won 17 of their 18 Premier League matches, only dropping points in a 1-1 draw against Manchester United. Their record at Anfield is even more spectacular – they haven’t lost a league game there since April 2017 and they haven’t even dropped a point in their last 16 matches.

Can giant-killing Wolves strike again?

Wolves have been renowned for their giant killings ever since their return to the top flight last season, and they managed to pull off another one on Friday as they came from 2-0 down to beat the 10-men of Manchester City 3-2 at Molineux.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have now lost just one of their last 14 top flight games, although even for them this trip to Anfield could prove a step too far. Wolves may be upsetters of the odds, but Liverpool are at a completely different level right now.

Potential for Wolves to worry Liverpool’s back line

That being said, the visitors do have a chance to give Liverpool’s defence a run for their money. Wolves have scored in each of their last 18 Premier League matches, and they’re facing a Liverpool side that aren’t quite as defensively sound as they were last term. The hosts have conceded in eight of their nine home league games this season, only managing a shutout against the lowest scorers in the league (Watford).

All things considered, we’re expecting Liverpool to once again assert their dominance, but a clean sheet seems unlikely at the moment. Backing Liverpool to Win and Both Teams to Score looks a very solid option.

We’re also going for a 3-1 correct score prediction – Klopp’s men have played out three separate 3-1 victories at home this term and have averaged 2.89 goals per game at Anfield, and they’re facing a Wolves side that have scored an average of 1.44 goals per game on the road.
