Reason For Lille vs Lyon Betting Tips

Dijon picked up another miraculous victory last week as they beat Rennes 2-1 to lift them out of the relegation zone. It was a much-needed win for the Mustards and continued their fine form at the Stade Gaston Gérard. They have now won their last three games at home but just haven’t been able to recreate that type of form on the road.

Dijon are winless in their last four away games and have failed to score in six of their last eight on the road. They have really struggled to surpass even the most beatable of teams like Toulouse (0-1), Brest (0-2) and Nice (1-2) and could continue this trait as they travel to the home of a team that has beaten them on each of their last three meetings.

Lille haven’t been too peachy either though as Christophe Galtier’s men are now winless in their last five games after a 2-0 defeat to Ajax in midweek. They have really struggled to adapt to the stresses of Champions League football this season and it’s taken its toll on their league standing as they currently sit 10th, a disappointing drop in form from their runners-up campaign last year. Les Dogues have faced some lofty opponents in recent weeks with PSG, Ajax, Marseille and Valencia all coming in their last five matches but they also struggled to beat 18th placed Metz in this time so it seems the problems run rather deep.

They have won just one of their last seven games in the league, picking up just six points of a possible 21. This is near enough relegation form and while they have been solid gong forward with eight scored in this time, the nine goals conceded has really held them back, they look a far cry from the best defensive team of last season. Les Dogues’ home form has been marginally better with two draws and a win in their last three league games at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy but the two stalemates came against teams currently in the bottom three so there remains cause for concern.

Dijon have been really punching above their weight in recent weeks with wins over two of France’s representatives in Europe Rennes and PSG. Both of those came at home and while the Mustards haven’t been nearly as impressive on the road, we’re backing them to snatch a point in this one as they travel to a Lille side bereft of confidence. Dijon have failed to score in their last four away games but have scored four goals against some top teams in their last three matches and really should’ve converted against Monaco so we’re expecting the Mustards to get something from this. Lille have drawn two of their last three home games so we’re backing this to end 1-1.
