Reason For Leeds vs Wolverhampton Betting Tips

  • Leeds have seen both teams score in four of their five competitive games so far this season.
  • Wolves have scored in three of their four Premier League outings this term.
  • Wolves have won four of their last five meetings with Leeds.

Leeds revel in promising top flight start

Leeds United’s return to the Premier League may have started with defeat at Anfield, but apart from that it couldn’t have gone much better for the newly promoted side.

They only lost by a narrow 4-3 margin in that opener, and they have followed it with victories over Fulham and Sheffield United before clinching a well-deserved point at home to Manchester City before the international break.

As impressive as this run is, it’s hard to ignore the fact that The Peacocks have been rather fortunate at times. Their result against Man City was undeniably deserved, but they could have been thrashed at Anfield and showed their defensive frailties when they conceded three at home to Fulham before narrowly edging out Sheffield United.

Wolves look to jumpstart season

Wolves will hope to bring this run to a grinding halt on Monday, and Nuno Espirito Santo has all the tactical knowledge to do so despite their rather low key start to the campaign.

The visitors have only won two of their four games so far and, while defeat to Manchester City is nothing to be ashamed of, their 4-0 thrashing at the hands of West Ham will be a real concern. Fortunately, they did manage to bounce back before the international break and will be keen to avoid another humbling situation.

More goals on the cards at Elland Road

The running theme of the 2020/21 Premier League is goals, and we’re expecting this to continue on Monday. Leeds have scored in all five of their competitive games so far and haven’t failed to find the net since mid-June.

Wolves, meanwhile, have scored in three of their four games and face a home side that have conceded in all but one of their games this season. Backing both teams to get on the scoresheet looks a good choice.

We also expect Wolves to put an end to Leeds United’s unbeaten run. They have won four of their last five meetings with the Whites and have won nine of their last 16 top flight matches. Santo has plenty of top flight experience to draw from and a narrow 2-1 win for the visitors is our correct score prediction.

Leeds United injuries and team news

Jack Harrison will return to the starting lineup after being ineligible to play against Manchester City, but Gaetano Berardi, Kiko Casilla and Adam Forshaw are all ruled out.

Liam Cooper, Pablo Hernandez and new signing Diego Llorente are all doubts too, meaning fellow new arrival Raphinha could be in line for a debut.

Wolverhampton injuries and team news

Jonny is the only confirmed absentee for Wolves heading into this game, with new signing Marcal nearing a full recovery and hoping to make his debut on Monday.

Pedro Neto will push for a start after a fine performance against Fulham, but Adama Traore and Joao Moutinho are both hoping to be recalled to the starting lineup as well.
