Reason For Hamilton vs Rangers Betting Tips

Rangers travel to South Lanarkshire this weekend as they’re hosted by Hamilton at New Douglas Park. Can the Gers keep up with league-leaders Celtic? Read on for all our Scottish Premiership predictions and betting tips.

Hamilton will be hoping to put an end to their six-game winless streak, which has left them hovering a mere point above the relegation zone. The Accies are winless since the end of September and have since gone on to lose and draw three games apiece. Brian Rice’s side have done relatively well at home, only losing a trio of games since the start of the season. They’ve also managed to score an average of 1.14 goals in their home ties, failing to score in just 29% of them, and have kept a clean sheet just once.

Over in Glasgow, Rangers have been doing extremely well ever since they lost the first Old Firm derby of the season. The Gers have been in fine form, winning seven of their last eight Premiership fixtures and drawing just once.

On their travels, Steven Gerrard’s side have also excelled at both ends of the pitch. They’ve been able to net an average of 2.33 goals on their travels, letting in a measly 0.33 in their six away trips. Moreover, Rangers have won by at least two goals in three of their five away wins.

Hamilton face their second game of the season against an Old Firm side. The South Lanarkshire outfit held their ground well earlier on in the season and lost 1-0 to Celtic at home and we believe Rice’s side could put out a similar line-up for this game. Rangers have been in fine form and their away record backs that up, with 50% of their away days seeing over 2.5 goals and the Gers netting an average of 2.33 per away day.

The Accies also have a taste for goal when playing on home soil, scoring at least once in five of their last seven games, which is why we’re backing them to score here. We’re going for over 2.5 goals in this game and a final score prediction of 2-1 to Rangers.
