Reason For Everton vs Norwich City Betting Tips
Improving Everton within touching distance of the top five
After starting the season by collecting just seven points from their opening eight games, Everton boss Marco Silva has finally started to ease some of the increasing pressure on his shoulders. The Toffees have doubled their points tally in the last four matches and headed into the international break on the back of a 2-1 win over Southampton.
Of course, things still look rather bleak after a glance at the Premier League table. They find themselves down in 15th in the table, although it’s worth remembering that just two points separate them from 7th place Manchester United. Things are incredibly tight in the middle of the pack, and this hosting of Norwich offers Everton a great opportunity to rocket up the table.
Canaries’ promising start turned on its head
Norwich, unfortunately for them, do not find themselves in this mid-table battle. Instead, the Canaries are embroiled in the early stages of a relegation battle after their spirited start to life in the top flight sputtered to a halt.
Daniel Farke’s side showed promise in the opening weeks of the season, with a shock 3-2 win over Manchester City being the highlight for the Carrow Road faithful. However, everything since then has pointed towards a swift return to the Championship – they have lost six of their last seven league outings, picking up just one point from a possible 21 to send them plummeting to the bottom of the pile.
Everton and Norwich lacking attacking threat
Norwich’s spirited attacking displays have also run out of steam. They have scored just twice in their last seven league games, failing to find the net on five occasions. Everton haven’t exactly been defensive rocks at Goodison Park, but they will still feel confident of a shutout on Saturday.
The Toffees themselves haven’t shown much in the way of attacking flourish either. They have averaged just 1.08 goals per game this season and have only a marginally better record of 1.33 goals per game at Goodison Park. Four of their six outings there have seen fewer than three goals scored, and they face a Norwich side that have seen fewer than three goals in each of their last five trips away.
All things considered, backing Under 2.5 Goals on Saturday looks an excellent value bet given the stats. As far as the overall result goes, Norwich have lost 2-0 in four of their last five Premier League away days and have only hit the back of the net once on the road this term, so a 2-0 win for the improving Everton looks attractive.
Home win: 1.37
Away win: 8.35
