Reason For Everton vs Arsenal Betting Tips
Everton return to form
The wheels that had spun so quickly at the start of the season seemed to be falling off at Goodison Park a month ago, but heading into this frenetic festive period and Carlo Ancelotti is enjoying an excellent spell.
Everton beat Leicester 2-0 at the King Power Stadium in midweek, following on from their fantastic win over Chelsea last weekend to lift them up to 5th in the table, just five points adrift of the top spot.
The Toffees head into this game as favourites, although that’s as much a hint at Arsenal’s torrid form as it is a celebration of Everton’s improvement.
Gunners continue to flounder
Arsenal managed to end their losing streak as they played out a 1-1 stalemate at home to Southampton in midweek, but Mikel Arteta is having a torrid time of things at the moment.
The Gunners lie 15th in the table and just five points clear of the relegation zone. They are winless in six league games and have lost seven of 13 this season, scoring just 11 goals in total. Only three of these goals have come in their last nine matches.
It’s a similar story away from home, with just four points from their last five trips away and only two goals scored in that period. On Saturday they face an Everton side that have kept back to back clean sheets against two of the best attacking sides in the league, so it’s not looking promising for the visitors.
Toffees win expected
Backing the home win is a good value option here, and considering Arsenal’s lack of attacking flourish we’re not expecting them to find the net. They have conceded 1.23 goals per game this season, so a 1-0 correct score prediction also attracts.
The anytime goalscorer market is worth exploring as well. Dominic Calvert-Lewin may have drawn a blank in his last two games but the Everton striker has scored 11 goals in 13 league games this season and will cause a lot of problems for Arsenal’s depleted back line.
Everton injuries and team news
Seamus Coleman and James Rodriguez are two big names that could return for Everton here, although it’s unlikely that both will start.
On the downside, Allan was forced off in midweek and will be a huge miss, while Lucas Digne continues to miss out for the Toffees.
Arsenal injuries and team news
Gabriel and Granit Xhaka are both suspended after their recent red cards, joining the injured Thomas Partey on the sidelines for this match.
Sead Kolasinac, Gabriel Martinelli and Reiss Nelson are all injury doubts as well, but Hector Bellerin could return after his suspension ended
