Reason For Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Betting Tips
Key points Crystal Palace - Tottenham
Conclusion Crystal Palace - Tottenham
Familiar story for Spurs
The last time Tottenham visited Selhurst Park they were surprise league-leaders, with their Portuguese boss getting the most out of their defence in a pragmatic, rigid style. This weekend Spurs head to Palace as the early leaders, with their new Portuguese boss succeeding with a solid set up.
Last season the wheels started to come off for Jose Mourinho’s side after their 1-1 draw at the Eagles. However, the Palace which Nuno’s Spurs visit this weekend aren’t the same side. Roy Hodgson has gone, the bedrock of their side has departed and they’re no longer seen as a tricky side to visit.
Kane back on form
It hasn’t been the easiest summer for Harry Kane, but the Tottenham captain looks settled once again. Turning out in three games for England gave Kane the minutes he needed, while his confidence was boosted by scoring in all three matches.
Kane scored twice for Spurs in Europe before the break and he should grab his first league goal of the season here. Kane has scored 38 goals in Premier League London derby matches and he’s been involved in 12 goals in 14 Premier League games against Crystal Palace, so back him to notch here.
Spurs to outclass Palace
A spirited point against West Ham last time out but they opened their campaign with a 3-0 loss to Chelsea and a 0-0 draw at home to Brentford. The Eagles are winless after meeting three London sides so far, but they’re winless in their last 11 clashes with their fellow capital sides.
Palace have managed fewer shots (20) and fewer shots on target (5) than any other team in the Premier League this season. That should see Tottenham continue their good defensive record, having won to nil in four of five matches under Nuno so far.
We’re backing Tottenham to win at Selhurst Park, with Palace looking vulnerable after their winless start. The hosts have failed to score in three of four games this term in all competitions so I’m going with Kane to fire Spurs to a 2-0 victory.
