Reason For Chelsea vs Bournemouth Betting Tips

  • Bournemouth are in the midst of their longest losing streak since being promoted in 2015 (five games).
  • Chelsea were beaten in three of their last four Premier League matches.
  • The Blues won four of their last five league fixtures at Stamford Bridge however.
  • Chelsea recorded just one clean sheet in their last 11 games in all competitions.

Both sides looking to bounce back

Both Chelsea and Bournemouth will be looking to bounce back from disappointing performances and defeats last weekend when they face off at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, though the Blues are huge favourites to triumph.

Chelsea felt the full force of the new manager bounce at Goodison Park in their last outing. The Blues were turned over 3-1 by a hard-running and hard-tackling Everton outfit that looked completely reinvigorated under interim boss Duncan Ferguson.

The defeat was Chelsea’s third in four Premier League fixtures and Frank Lampard will have to find a way to drag his team out of their slump to hold off the teams that are closing in quickly from below them.

Bournemouth were beaten 0-3 at home to Liverpool in one of the least surprising results of last weekend, though the limp manner of their loss hinted that Cherries have some serious problems at present.

Eddie Howe’s men barely laid a finger on their table-topping visitors in a dreadfully inept display. Bournemouth had just 26.8% of the ball overall, and the Cherries didn’t even muster a single shot on target from just three attempts.

Bournemouth’s record-breaking slump

The defeat to Liverpool extended Bournemouth’s losing streak to five Premier League matches – that’s the Cherries’ longest string of defeats since their promotion to the top-flight in 2015.

Bournemouth are then, just about the ideal opponents to face for any team looking to restraighten their path, and Chelsea look good to claim three points against the beleaguered Cherries this week.

Despite their underwhelming overall results, the Blues have maintained their high standards at Stamford Bridge for the most part, winning four of their last five Premier League matches there since late September.

We expect Chelsea to enhance that record further against Bournemouth, though the Cherries have every chance of netting a consolation.

Chelsea continue to leak goals

Chelsea’s frailty at the back has been apparent for weeks now, and having kept just one clean sheet in their last 11 games in all competitions, Frank Lampard is rumoured to be eyeing up defensive reinforcements for January.

With those factors considered, we like the look of the Chelsea win and both teams to score combination for Saturdays game which looks a smart avenue of approach at the available odds, while our correct score prediction lands at a 2-1 home win.

Bournemouth have been struggling badly for much of the season, yet the Cherries have conceded more than twice in only two of their last 12 Premier League fixtures.

Chelsea meanwhile, scored exactly two goals in each of their last four victories, and having averaged just 1.7 goals per 90 minutes across their last 10 games, we think the Blues’ currently lack the fluency in attack to run riot this weekend.
