Reason For Burnley vs Crystal Palace Betting Tips
Palace’s happy Turf Moor memories
Crystal Palace have won three and lost two of their five Premier League away games against Burnley, winning the last two. With the Clarets in trouble, our predictions back Roy Hodgson’s side to make Turf Moor their happy place once again.
With uncertainty around Sean Dyche’s Clarets going into this one, there’s certainly an opportunity for the Eagles to continue their solid start on the road.
A not so happy place for Burnley
It really has been an awful start for the hosts this season. Burnley are winless in their seven Premier League games so far this season (D2 L5), losing all three at Turf Moor.
The Clarets have scored fewer goals (3) and had fewer shots on target (19) than any other Premier League side this season, while they’re the only side yet to find the net at home so far in 2020-21.
Opportunity for Eagles
Crystal Palace picked up a 4-1 victory over Leeds before the international break, which sees them coming into this encounter with two wins in their last three. The Eagles have claimed victories at Fulham and Manchester United this season, while there were encouraging signs in their 4-0 loss at Chelsea – a scoreline which massively flattered the Blues.
Palace may not have the consistency of some of Hodgson’s more reliable top-flight sides, but they have four wins to their name after eight games and look overpriced at close to 2/1 to claim a win away to a Burnley side who look very brittle after a barren transfer window.
With Burnley losing five from seven games this season we think the value here lies with Palace. The visitors to win is our first pick for Monday’s early top-flight clash, while we are going with a 2-0 win for the Eagles as our correct score prediction given that Burnley have failed to score in five of their last six.
Burnley injuries and team news
Phil Bardsley and Erik Pieters have only just returned to fitness, but they could be rushed back here. Burnley had to immediately return Ben Mee to the starting line-up due to a lack of depth in defence, so the absence of Charlie Taylor doesn’t help their chances here.
Crystal Palace injuries and team news
The Eagles are without Connor Wickham, Wayne Hennessey and Joel Ward as they head to Turf Moor. However, there is better news on Eberechi Eze, who is expected to feature despite pulling out of the England U21’s squad this month.
