Conclusion Brentford - Manchester United

Brentford find form at home

Brentford made it back-to-back home wins in the Premier League on Friday with a late comeback against Watford but they could find it a little more difficult when they host a rejuvenated Manchester United side on Tuesday.

The Bees’ emphatic start to life in the Premier League gave way to a difficult autumn period in which they picked up just one point from five games, but Thomas Frank’s side have returned to a bit of form recently and could prove tough opposition for the visiting Red Devils.

Resurgent Red Devils eye top four

Manchester United were far from their best at Carrow Road on Saturday but some heroics from the in-form David De Gea and a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty was enough to take all three points from the relegation candidates.

This extended the visitors’ unbeaten run to six matches since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s departure. They have won four of these, only dropping points away to Chelsea and at home against Young Boys with a heavily rotated side.

One major change since Solskjaer was sacked is Manchester United’s defensive resilience. They have conceded just four games in their last six matches, albeit helped by some excellent showings from De Gea. To put that into perspective, they shipped 15 goals in the six games preceding Solskjaer’s departure.
