Reason For Amiens vs Reims Betting Tips

  • Amiens have won three of their last four home games despite losing the most recent game at the Stade de la Licorne 4-0.
  • Reims have conceded the least goals but have also scored the second least goals in Ligue 1 this season.
  • Draws have been common for Reims with each of their last three matches ending level as well as their last clash with Amiens (2-2).

Tough test for new manager Luka Elsner

Luka Elsner is still getting to grips with top league management but he’ll need to use all his limited experience to get his team out of this rut as they are currently on a streak of three defeats. Amiens have never been great defensively but they have been truly cut open in the last few weeks with a whopping eleven goals conceded in their last three matches. Seven of these came against teams currently sitting 10th and 13th so one can only imagine what a team like PSG would do to them in their current state.

The Unicorns’ home form has generally been very good this season despite losing 4-0 in their last outing at the Stade de la Licorne. They had won their three home games before this collapse but that all seems like a distant memory as they prepare to host Reims. Amiens have impressed with their attacking prowess so far this campaign with 22 scored in their 16 games and they’ll need to show that in this match.

Lots of steel, not enough fire for Reims

Reims are also a team in need of a win as they have drawn their last three games. They all came against beatable opponents but Reims’ lack of goals came back to bite them each time. The Champagne club have been extremely solid at the back this season with them drawn with PSG for least goals conceded but they have also managed to keep their goals scored tally low.

They have scored the second least goals in Ligue 1 this season with just eleven. They haven’t created that much as a result of their defensive setup and therefore Boulaye Dia has been chasing shadows up front for most of the campaign. Reims have just four goals in their last six away games, failing to beat extremely weak sides like Brest (0-1) and Metz (1-1) in this time, but they have another chance to set things right as they travel to the home of an out-of-sorts Amiens side.

Reason for calm at the Stade de la Licorne

This is set to be a tetchy clash as both sides are desperate not to lose following their barren runs. Amiens have generally been better at home this season so we’re backing them to improve here against a Reims team awful on the road but we doubt the hosts will get the win due to their shocking performances recently.

Reims have drawn each of their last three matches and with their last clash with Amiens finishing level, we’re backing a stalemate here. The Unicorns have three goals in their last three games despite the damning results while Reims have also been consistently finding the net with four in their last five so we’re backing this to finish 1-1.
